(+) With the discovery and application of the principles of electromagnetism, mankind has tapped a fundamental dimension of the universe and opened up a new power. With all moves from a lower to a higher platform, society takes on a more multiply-connected nature, in terms of the number of interdependent connections that make up an individual’s environment.
Each individual has more power to transform the universe, but that power is a function of, and dependent on, an ever increasing array of technologies, institutions, and people. This is the natural tendency of mankind, to increase his power to act in the universe, through the increase in density of applicable fire, as a function of an increased knowledge of physical chemistry.
