FEAR (LESS)

Life is not about coping with fears, it is not about surviving bouts of anxiety or just working our way through panic attacks. Life is about achieving absolute happiness, complete freedom, and true fulfillment.

Don’t settle for less.

INSIGHT
Before we reach paradise and plentitude we must first journey through a barren desert. Before there is Light, there is darkness.

Our personal effort to create Light out of darkness expresses humanity’s most profound longing and deepest desire: to be the actual cause of our own happiness. Make no mistake, it was the souls of humanity—you and I—who chose this path to transformation and fulfillment.

Our fears are often the greatest obstacles that confront us. They can burden and encumber our existence to the point where we are preoccupied simply with coping with them. Well, forget about coping. This Name is about curing!

Incapacitating fear is an illusion. Fear is a bluff, and we must call the bluff—because on the other side of fear lies paradise! If we run away from our fears, we are fleeing from the fulfillment of our own deepest longings and needs.

MEDITATION
Ask yourself, “What am I afraid of?” The courage to conquer your fear now rises within you. By proactively confronting your fears at the seed level, you pull them out by the roots. You extirpate them (look it up!) entirely from your being.

When Yisrael below guard themselves to answer Amen and meditate in their heart as needs be, how many openings of blessings are open above, how much goodness is present throughout the worlds, how much joy abounds in everything! What is the reward of Yisrael to have brought this about? Their reward is in this world and in the World to Come. In this world, when they are beset by enemies and they say their prayer before their Master, the sound proclaims throughout the worlds, “Open the gates, that the righteous nation that keeps faithfulness (Heb. emunim) may enter in” (Yeshayah 26:2). Do not pronounce it ’emunim’ but ‘Amenim (Amen plural),’ WHICH MEANS THAT THEY ARE CAREFUL TO ANSWER AMEN. “Open the gates,” as Yisrael opened to them the gates of blessings, so now “open the gates” and let their prayer be accepted which is about those who distress them.

FORGET THYSELF

We constantly get in our own way. We think we’re smart, clever, and able to solve our problems on our own, without any help from above. This Name nudges us aside, allowing the Light to come in and do the job.

INSIGHT

The Tree of Life refers to the Upper World that exists beyond our five senses—an endless dimension filled with Light and divine energy. The Tree of Life is a realm of utter perfection.

When we are healed from an illness, the Light of healing flows from this realm. When we are financially successful, the force of prosperity derives from this dimension. When a life is created, the life-force that sustains all living creatures issues from this idyllic reality.

But there’s a caveat: The Tree of Life will extend a branch down into this world only if there is an intense desire to cling to its branches. Deep yearning summons forth the Tree of Life.

One thing stops us from doing so—ego.

We are our own worst enemies. We allow our egos to get in the way of our success. We cling to our own opinions. The more people oppose us, the more entrenched we become in our own ideas. It pains us terribly to let go of long-held views.

It’s human nature to expend whatever energy is required to prove a point, no matter the cost. As a result, we’re seduced into making decisions that gratify the ego but injure the common good. We often reject the ideas of others because they didn’t originate in our own clever little minds. We may even secretly wish for failure—even if we ourselves are damaged by it—if a plan originates from someone who ignored our advice.

MEDITATION

You are now transcending the limits of yourself so that you cling to the Tree of Life. Happiness finds you, now that the ego is out of the spotlight. You master the art of getting out of your own way, and letting go of all stubbornness.
