The Year of Jubilee unto Freedom – Kabbalah and New Life Wisdom
“What is the son of a free man?” “As you may read, ‘For it is the Jubilee, it shall be holy to you…'” (Vayikra 25:12). And it is further written, “and proclaim liberty throughout all the land…” (Ibid. 10). So all freedom is derived from Jubilee. Therefore, “a free man!” “You may ask why ‘chorin (masc. a free man)’ and not ‘cherut (fem. freedom)?'” Definitely, it should be “a man of freedom!“”
The 2020’s perfect vision – unity in heralding the year of Jubilee
“In this Year of Jubilee everyone is to return to their own property… The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine and you reside in my land as foreigners and strangers.”
(Leviticus 25:13; 23)
“When you spread out your hands in prayer,
I hide my eyes from you;
even when you offer many prayers,
I am not listening.
Your hands are full of blood!
Wash and make yourselves clean.
Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek
justice. Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow.”
(Isaiah 1:15-17)
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with
shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh
and blood?”
(Isaiah 58:6-7)
Regarding the Sabbath, the Sabbath year, and the year of Jubilee, Aronson (2019) refers to the view that these passages indicate [how] God is concerned about the well being of individuals, of the land, and of the society. In the instructions regarding the Jubilee, God provided a plan to prevent generational poverty and disadvantage. Furthermore, the passages from Isaiah describe God’s disgust with displays of personal piety while turning a blind eye to injustice and oppression. Finally, the teachings of Jesus declare the emergence of the kingdom, which is both now and yet to come. The fullness of the kingdom will appear with His final return that will bring redemption to all of creation.
